Our investment in Uniti AI
When we think about the future of work, we see a world where human and virtual labour operate side by side. By leveraging AI, businesses can reduce costs, redeploy staff to higher-value work, and dramatically improve responsiveness. Virtual agents—AI assistants that can autonomously perform a wide range of tasks—are becoming central to this transformation. Major players like Salesforce and Google have launched AI-driven agents, and adoption is gaining traction across industries.
Real estate, while inherently physical, is especially ripe for this kind of transformation. Many core processes—from leasing and collections to tenant communication and maintenance—are still manual, repetitive, and time-consuming. Automating these workflows presents a major opportunity: not just to boost efficiency, but to free up teams to focus on more strategic, relationship-driven work.
Leasing, in particular, stands out as one of the most immediate and valuable use cases. Leasing teams—especially those managing high volumes—often field hundreds or even thousands of inquiries each month. This creates a heavy administrative load, much of it spent on unqualified leads that never convert.
Enter Uniti AI. Uniti’s first product is an AI leasing agent that engages with inbound leads, qualifies prospects, shares property details, and boosts conversion rates. The product is modular, giving leasing teams the ability to customize agents with the context needed to deliver accurate, relevant responses.
So what does this actually look like in practice? Leasing teams can configure an AI sales agent that responds to leads across email, SMS, WhatsApp, website chat, and soon voice. You can name your agent, tailor the qualification questions, set the tone and messaging style, and define workflows for different scenarios—including when to escalate to another team member. From a prospect’s perspective, they feel like they are talking to a responsive, friendly sales rep who answers their questions quickly and helps them find the space they are looking for.
Customers often describe onboarding a Uniti AI agent as similar to training a new team member. Leasing teams direct their agents to the most up-to-date information—including availability, pricing, and FAQs—and monitor activity during the first 30 to 60 days, offering occasional feedback and coaching. Before long, the agent are responding just like any other team member. Over time, teams rely on their AI agents more and more, as they prove to be consistent, accurate, and always available. Customers we spoke with were thrilled to see prospects receiving responses within minutes, noted improved conversion rates, and expressed strong trust in the agent’s ability to represent their brand—along with excitement about future use cases. Meanwhile, sales teams had more time to focus on high-value, qualified leads.
Our investment in Uniti AI is rooted in our conviction that agentic AI will play a transformative role in real estate. While leasing is just the starting point, Uniti envisions a broader future where AI agents support a range of functions—from property management and accounting to tenant engagement. Humans aren’t going anywhere, but we see powerful potential in combining AI-driven automation with human expertise to streamline operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and unlock meaningful cost savings across the industry.
There’s a strong case for vertical-specific AI agents—solutions purpose-built for real estate that integrate with industry software and understand the sector’s unique nuances. While large incumbents will build their own integrated AI tools, startups like Uniti have a clear advantage: agility, deep focus, and the ability to deliver modern, cost-effective solutions powered by the most advanced models. Since launching its beta in early 2024, Uniti AI has seen rapid adoption across coworking, self-storage, hospitality and events, brokerage, and more.
We’re thrilled to welcome Francesco, Emre, and the Uniti team to the Alate portfolio.
